Obituary

Jennifer Lee Marie Salatka, 72, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021, at Rosebrook Personal Care Home after a long illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Dr. Karl Salatka. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Rosyln Marovich of Johnstown, her brother Edward (Janice) Kula of Carbon Hill, Al., her nieces Melissa Marovich of NYC, Jessi (John) McCool of St. Louis, Mo., Sara (Walter) Bartle of Philadelphia Pa., and her nephew Michael Marovich of Johnstown PA.

Jennifer was a 1969 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and went on to work as a registered nurse. She worked many years as a recovery room nurse and then as an office manager for Cedar Surgical Associates.

Jennifer was known for being a generous volunteer, organizer, and leader in many social and charitable endeavors. She was active in PEO, the Pittsburgh Glass Center, the Fellows of the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the YMCA. She was also a member of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Hill Crest Country Club, the New Kensington Library Society, and Mount St. Peter Parish.

Jennifer will always be remembered and dearly missed for her bright smile and sweet personality, as well as her sincere generosity and kindness to all she knew.
