Obituary for Louis Edward Valencic

Louis "Lou" Valencic, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully, at his home, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 8, 1927, in James City, Pa. He came to the valley with his family at the age of 2. He graduated from Har-Brack High School in Natrona Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Agnes Valencic; and brothers, Frank Jr. (Dorothy) and Steve (Peggy). He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Ann (Veselovsky); and children, Michael and his wife, Karen, of Sarver, David, of Natrona Heights, and Cheryl and her husband, Greg Bures, of Sarver; and nieces and nephews. Lou was a World War II veteran, and served in the Coast Guard Merchant Marines and the Army. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum and was self-employed in the automotive repair and ice cream businesses, both in Brackenridge, for many years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed fishing and loved to garden. He was always there for his family. He deeply valued his prayer life, was a parishioner at St. Mary's in Freeport, and attended daily Mass for more than 40 years. Donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital are requested, in lieu of flowers. A private memorial service will occur at a later date at the convenience of the family.
